Functional Imaging and Biophysics
of Biological Systems
Our research program is focused on understanding complex biological processes
(or systems) at the molecular level. The following general themes
describe our research interests: (1) Energy Metabolism and Mitochondria Anomalies,
(2) Model and Natural Biomembranes, (3) Protein Dynamics and
Protein-Protein Interaction, and (4) Theoretical Modeling and Technique Development.
We employ biophotonics and biophysics approaches that include fluorescence
(both confocal and two-photon) microscopy, ultrafast laser spectroscopy,
fluorescence correlation spectroscopy, theoretical modeling, and image processing
algorithm. Our research is interdisciplinary in nature and, therefore, encompasses
several collaborations across the Penn State University. Please feel free
to explore this website and don’t hesitate to contact me if you have
any questions.
Cheers,
