We encourage those enthusiastic, intellectually curious, hard-working students to contact Dr. Heikal to discuss the possibility of joining our laboratory. you will do interdisciplinary research at the interface of biophysics, cell biology, chemistry, physics, biochemistry, and engineering. Potential graduate students can apply to the Department of Bioengineering or the Huck Institute of Life Sciences: Integrative Biosciences (IBIOS) Program.

Undergraduates who are interested in pursuing their honors thesis research in our group should contact Dr. Heikal for current openings. Undergraduate students who are interested in gaining research experience are encouraged to apply for the MURE (Minority Undergraduate Research Experience) and WISER (Women in Science & Engineering Research), McNair Scholars, and SROP (Summer Undergraduate Opportunity Program) to join our laboratory. Undergraduates who are interested in REU programs should also check the Penn State Biomaterials & Bionanotechnology Summer Institute (BBSI) andPenn State Center for Nanoscale.
