Analysis of function and consideration of design concerns for biomedical implants, including prosthetic joints, electrical stimulators, and cardiovascular pumps. Prerequisite:  MATH 250  or MATH 251  . Prerequisite or concurrent: BIOL 141  or BIOL 472

BIOE 503 - Biofluid Mechanics

Biofluid mechanics; derivation of mass and momentum equations; analysis of fluid motion (steady and unsteady) in biomedical engineering systems and devices; relating diseased states and fluid mechanics.

BIOE 519 - Artificial Organs

Basic techniques and principles of a multidiscipline approach to artificial organs design.
