Health Professions Preparation

Biomedical engineering can be used to prepare for a career in healthcare including medical professions, dentistry, and more. Historically, 25 to 30 percent of all biomedical engineering graduates go on to pursue professional health degrees.

Preparing yourself in advance for the health professions application process is important and can be accomplished by completing minimal extra course work and carefully selecting elective courses. The biomedical engineering department has compiled guidelines for scheduling courses and successfully preparing students that plan to apply to a professional health program. Remember there is much more to being a successful candidate than a high GPA!
